I always felt that IMDb's site had so much potential to innovate the movie research and discovery experience. Over the years of using the site to learn more about movies I stumbled across on TV, characters that inspired me, and scenes that left me puzzled, I would never be disappointed by the amazing content on IMDb's site. Though, I did see opportunities to improve the site's overall design to bring a more delightful user experience.
Movify is an idea I conceptualized that streamlines the process of researching and learning about upcoming movies by implementing a clean user interface. Visitors are able to learn about new movies without having to go to multiple sites such as IMDb and YouTube. The movie trailer plays in the background and the user simply has to click the play button if they wish to watch the trailer. For details about the movie or theater locations, the user simply scrolls down.
For movies that have already been released, there would be a quote section highlighting the scenes that truly resonated with the audience. Over time, the movie quotes section could be user generated and maintained. In addition, users would be able to listen to film scores used throughout the movie. A cool idea would be to have would be a Q&A Page where users can ask about parts of the movie that confused them, read people's interpretation of different scenes, etc. Furthermore, an Ask Me Anything (AMA) section where fans can ask questions to actors/actresses in the movie. Last few ideas are definitely scope creeps and a simple MVP would do to help first find product/market fit.
Below is an example of a Movie Profile Page for The Dark Knight.

Below is an example of a TV Show Profile Page for Avatar: The Last Airbender. I wanted to design the site in a way that TV shows, films, and documentaries all have the same uniform layout.
